You might work well with Carly if…
…you have a young person who feels things are a lot right now — exam stress, friendship issues, performance nerves, trouble focusing, or just feeling stuck and flat. You want someone calm and steady on their side, and practical things that will help.
Young people tend to open up with Carly because she’s calm, unshockable, and they feel heard. Together, Carly and each young person come up with small, practical things to try between sessions: little experiments in real life. The aim is for them to leave with practical things that help, such as how to emotionally regulate when everything feels like too much, keep showing up when they'd rather give up, focus on what they can control, and recover and grow when things go wrong. These are the building blocks of genuine resilience and, reassuringly, research on hardiness shows they can be developed, not just inherited.
Carly works with young people experiencing:
- Confidence and self-belief issues
- Friendship and social challenges
- Attentional difficulties and focus
- School /Uni and exam pressure
- Performance anxiety
- Emotional regulation
- Motivation and direction
Her approach is person-centred, trauma-informed and evidenced-based. Drawing on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Japanese psychology (Morita Therapy) and an understanding of how the body shapes how we feel under pressure, Carly’s work focusses not just to how a young person thinks and feels, but to what they do and how they live day to day.
The easiest place to start is a free, no-pressure 25-minute call to see whether Carly is the right fit.
Carly works in person on Wednesday afternoons.
